Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford

W Hotel Katrina Relief Fundraiser

The generous W Hotel in Los Angeles was both the host and location for a star-studded fundraiser, with a goal of raising more than US $100,000 for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Known globally for its world-class service, W Hotel has been just as active in servicing hurricane relief efforts since the devastating storm hit New Orleans in September.

For its latest relief fundraiser, celebrities such as Jason Biggs and supermodel / powerbroker Cindy Crawford with husband and upscale nightclub baron, Rande Gerber, showed up to give their support. Gerber has been in the public eye recently due to his landmark participation in the US  $3 billion dollar Las Vegas property development Las Ramblas He has partnered with George Clooney to develop Vegas' latest luxury resort and nightlife spot.

With a backdrop of live New Orleans jazz and vivacious Zydeco beats reverberating through the stylish W Hotel setting, host and blues fanatic John Goodman, along with Willie Garson and Jean Smart auctioned off items valued up to US $50,000 a piece. The one-of-a-kind items included a genuine piece of the Berlin Wall, an Alan Iverson signed jersey and numerous exclusive resort & spa packages.

Aside from the goodwill and great music, guests were treated to complimentary cocktails, hors d’oeurves and a laid back, stylish, and heartfelt evening only a W Hotel could deliver.
