Rev. Jesse Jackson and Loraine Colonello

Rainbow Push Coalition

The Rainbow Push Coalition recently honored its founder, Reverend Jesse Jackson, at an elegant black-tie event at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The Reverend Jackson, controversial filmmaker Michael Moore, and activist/actor Mike Farrell held a press conference before the gala to espouse their views. The evening continued with the honoring of music legend and perhaps the most influential figure in music today, Clive Davis, along with the Reverend and actress Cicely Tyson. Many other political figures and celebrities were in attendance, including Congresswoman Maxine Waters, former Governor Gray Davis, producer Barry Gordy, Jr., actor Leon Issac Kennedy, recording artist Regina Belle, and former POW Shoshana Johnson. Our own Editor-in-Chief, Loraine Colonello, showed her support for the Reverend's positive, uplifting message of empowerment. After all, POWER is all about empowerment for their readers!
