| The Producers Guild of America held their 3rd Annual Celebration of Diversity as a tribute to those individuals whose work has broadened the industry's cultural horizons and to select productions that have stimulated national discussion on significant social issues. The celebration was hosted by Katey Sagal. Special guest in attendance included Morgan Freeman, Mekhi Phifer, Edward James Olmos, Wilmer Valderrama, Placido Domingo, Mira Nair, and Kathleen Kennedy, among many others. Before dinner remarks were made by executive director of PGA, Vance Van Petten, stirring musical performances were given by Incendio, Jana, and Kris Bowers. Remarks by PGA's president Kathleen Kennedy were followed by tributes to Mira Nair, Gordon Davidson, president of entertainment at Fox Broacasting Gail Berman, Placido Domingo, and Morgan Freeman for their leadership on issues of diversity. The Celebration of Diversity has fast become one of the Producer Guild's most lauded and highly anticipated annual events. No doubt, after this year's grand celebrity turnout, we will be anticipating next year's celebration even more! |
