Golden Globes

The world watched as country cowboys (Brokeback Mountain) and crooners (Walk the Line) cashed in big at one of Hollywood’s most important evenings: the Golden Globes. Broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the Globes are thought to be an accurate predictor of who will walk away with the coveted Oscars®.

And if the fashions are any indication of what we can expect at the Academy Awards this year, we are in for real excitement! Desperate Housewives divas Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria made us desperate for their stylists’ phone numbers: Golden Globe winner Huffman looked stunning in a white, Grecian-inspired gown; Cross donned a gorgeous, coral Marc Bouwer; Hatcher amazed us in a copper Versace; and Longoria looked muy caliente in a ruby red, crisscross, old Hollywood-esque Bob Mackie.

Let us not forget the luscious jewelry! Exclusive designer Chopard showered starlets with dazzling diamonds. Miss Golden Globe Dakota Johnson, daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, twinkled like the star she is with an 18-K white and yellow gold diamond bracelet. Golden Globe nominee Scarlett Johansson blew us away with flawless white diamond (14.48) chandelier earrings set in 18-k white gold. And, her Excellency herself, Queen Latifah, reigned the red carpet with a ravishing yellow and white alternating diamond (43.52-ct) bracelet in 18k white and yellow gold.

After-Parties!

Following the show, filled with touching and comical moments, celebrities made appearances at a variety of after-parties. The talk-of-the-town celebrations were just steps away from the ceremony itself. In Style and Warner Bros. hosted a sensational soirée at the hotel, where winner Reese Witherspoon canoodled with hubby, Ryan Phillippe, and fellow Golden Globe recipient Huffman danced the night away with her husband, William H. Macy. The reunited couple, Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton, looked very much in love as they were spotted chatting and smooching over Cosmos.

Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox threw its bash on the roof of the hotel. Kiefer Sutherland, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Philip Seymour Hoffman were some of the notable partygoers. HBO, however, opted for a poolside locale for its party, which was a splash with Golden Globe winner, Joaquin Phoenix, as well as Kirsten Dunst, Natalie Portman, Val Kilmer, Alfre Woodard, Jane Seymour, and others.

But, the place to see-and-be-seen, especially for young Hollywood, was the Weinstein Glamour Magazine shindig at the hotel hotspot, Trader Vic’s. Charlize Theron, Mary-Kate Olsen, Mandy Moore, Mischa Barton, as well as socialites Paris Hilton and Brandon Davis were some of the famous attendees.

Swagaganza!

Before they were seen at the hottest after-parties in town, A-listers were among the privileged few who were invited to a week-long celebration: the suites. From pampering spa treatments to gift bags filled with the latest high-end products, POWER was there to take you on our journey as we explored these illustrious, exclusive playgrounds.

Biolage Glamour Magazine Suite
To get the stars red carpet-ready, Biolage and Glamour Magazine invited celebrities to a day of beauty at the luxurious L’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills. There, stylist to the stars Enzo Angileri, who has primped and curled the coifs of Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lopez, and Nicole Kidman, and celebrity colorist Jennifer J., whose technique has donned the tresses of Julia Roberts, Ashley Judd, and Cate Blanchett, pampered Lindzi Scharf and Margi Blash with new ‘dos.

Make-up artist Tim Quinn and Giorgio Armani Cosmetics then treated attendees with amazing makeovers.

Showtime Style
Tinseltown trekked to Showtime’s Style Suite at the see-and-be-seen Luxe Hotel for some prepping and pampering before the big night.

Paris Hilton, Sharon Stone, Julia Verdin, Kevin Nealon, Marla Maples and her daughter, Tiffany Trump, Bai Ling, Philip Bloch, Terrence Howard, as well as other guests, were able to partake in five distinctive experiences: the Fashion Studio, Jewelry & Accessories Lounge, Treatment Spa, Patio of Dreams and the Gift Table.

In the Fashion Studio, guests devoured delicious attire from Maggie Coulombe, Untouched World, Von Dutch, CO2, and J Gerard Designs. To make their outfits complete, the Jewelry and Accessories Lounge was nearby, filled with unique, beautiful treasures from Beavaldes, Niessing, Energetix, Fileena, Isis Jewels, Goldenbleu, and Moonsus & Marsus.

Also, The Treatment Spa provided a luxurious beauty getaway for many celebrities. Last but certainly not least at the suite was the Patio of Dreams. Selected guests received a four-night stay—estimated to be worth US $6,000—at the Pearl Beach Resorts in Tikehau and Bora Bora.

As a parting gift, attendees received an extravagant US $40,000 gift bag filled with jewelry, beauty products, clothing, and much more!
