Donald and Melania

The Donald and Melania Tie the Knot

On Jan. 22, real estate tycoon and Apprentice icon, Donald Trump, 58, wed his girlfriend of six years, the beautiful international supermodel Melania Knauss, 34. The extravagant wedding was held in Palm Beach, Fla. in front of about 400 guests at Bethesda by the Sea Episcopal Church.

Despite media requests, Melania Knauss refused to allow her wedding to be on live television--much to the disappointment of many fans.

For Donald Trump's third wedding, he spared no expense. Melania Knauss walked down the aisle in the same dress she wore for the cover of  Vogue the week prior to the wedding. The haute couture gown was designed by Christian Dior and is valued at around US $130,000 and weighs 23kg due to the enormous shirt and 1,500 crystal rhinestone beads. The engagement ring was an original Graff ring that cost about US $2 million dollars, though Trump bought it at half off in a publicity exchange.

The wedding reception followed immediately and continued until the break of dawn at the world famous Trump Mar a Lago 18-acre golf resort and escape. Dinner included a banquet featuring filet mignon with peppercorn sauce, prawns, foie gras, lobster and caviar, all provided by Jean-George Vongerichten, the culinary genius who works at the restaurant in the Trump tower in Manhattan. Guests enjoyed mini wedding cakes made of chocolate truffle for dessert, in addition to the seven-tier wedding cake decorated with 3,000 white roses and icing by Grand Marnier.

Reports from guests say that Donald Trump's wedding heavily involved his children. Daughter Ivanka did one of the readings and sons Donald, Jr., and Eric served as his best men. Pat O'Brien told co-anchor Hannah Strom during The Early Show, "He's a great dad to those kids and Melania will be a great addition to that family."

Some famous guests who attended Donald Trump's wedding were Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, Prince Albert of Monaco, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and wife, Maria Shriver, and entertainment stars Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, Bruce Willis, Elton John, Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee, Billy Joel, Clint Eastwood, Sean Combs, Paul Anka, Luciano Pavarotti, Liza Minnelli, Lionel Ritchie, Usher, Larry King, Katie Couric, David Letterman, Howard Stern, Kelly Ripa, Muhammad Ali, Derek Jeter, and Shaquille O'Neal.

What a wedding! POWER wishes these newlyweds many happy years to come!
