Charlize Theron

BAFTA Awards

This year’s BAFTA Awards left a lot of Brits baffled and empty-handed as American films and actors seized top honors at London’s legendary Odeon Leicester Square.

Brokeback Mountain moseyed away with the most awards, earning four golden theatrical masks for Best Film, Best Director (Ang Lee), Best Adapted Screenplay (Annie Proulx), and Best Supporting Actor (Jake Gyllenhaal).

Best Actress surprisingly went to Walk the Line’s Reese Witherspoon, who beat out category favorite Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardner).

And Philip Seymour Hoffman was named Best Actor for his performance in Capote.

Thandie Newton was the only Brit to receive the Academy’s praise in a major category. The Mission Impossible II star won for her supporting role in the Los Angeles race drama, Crash.

After-Party

Following the ceremony, celebrities Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy, Pierce Brosnan, Mischa Barton, George Clooney, Claudia Schiffer, Matt Dillon, Renée Zellweger, and others, sauntered over to the exclusive The Hospital private members club for the Weinstein Company’s lavish post-celebration.

There, Academy Award-winning actress and BAFTA nominee Charlize Theron was seen in a dreamy, midnight blue gown paired with 24-K heart-shaped diamond Chopard earrings and a breathtaking white gold and diamond bracelet.

Fellow BAFTA nominee Zhang Ziyi also showed off her Chopard. The Memoirs of a Geisha beauty wore a 32-K white and black diamond chocker necklace and a creamy, iridescent strapless gown.
