Heidi Jayne Netzley

An Evening of Art

KaDee Strickland has come a long way from her home in a one-stoplight town in Georgia where she picked tobacco on a farm for eight years. This stunning, young woman is now an actress in Hollywood and has worked on numerous projects including some with Woody Allen and Diane Keaton. Her Southern charm and her talents have taken her far: from high school student council president, cheerleader and homecoming queen (three times!), and to a star on the stage (she has a starring role in upcoming film Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid). She is also an aficionado of the arts as seen from the event she hosted exclusively covered by POWER Magazine .

KaDee, with the Edgemar Center for the Arts, hosted actress Heidi Jayne Netzley's art debut on a wonderful Sunday evening in Santa Monica. KaDee says, "The Edgemar Center is particularly progressive in nurturing the creative process, and I am proud to honor my new friend, Heidi's, brilliant work." Like KaDee, Heidi Jayne Netzley is also a highly talented young woman.

Heidi's film debut was in My Best Friend's Wedding with Julia Roberts, which she followed by playing a role opposite Jude Law in Road to Perdition. Her art debut, "Face Value," was a complete success. While sipping on wine and listening to the piano playing of award-winning classical pianist Michael Grady, admirers viewed her paintings. "Face Value," which she calls her "translation of the fleeting ruminations that generate our transitory states of facial expressions," features a series of dramatic portrait studies created from the unique combination of chalk pastel on suede mat board. After the opening reception, during which many of Heidi's paintings were sold, there was a performance by independent singer/songwriter Christopher Russell to top it all. Everyone partied into the night enjoying an engaging evening of entertainment.
